Jennifer Deveraux is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-S) with current status as a Supervisor in the state of Texas, allowing her to provide supervision to other appropriately licensed social workers seeking their clinical licensure. Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts in Literature from the University of Texas El Paso and her Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Jennifer has extensive experience working with clients who have experienced complex trauma and individuals suffering from severe and persistent mental illness. She has worked in psychiatric inpatient hospital settings, residential treatment centers, and has also provided intensive outpatient treatment. Jennifer works with adolescents and adults suffering with depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, self-harm, and suicidal ideation utilizing evidenced based treatment modalities including, but not limited to, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Jennifer has received over 100 hours specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Training and over 60 hours specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
Jennifer believes in a nonjudgmental, validating approach in which safety and rapport can be established as a foundation for change. Therapy is a collaborative process and clients are the masters of their own narratives in creating a life worth living.
Jennifer will be facilitating the Dialectical Behavior Training Skills Group for Parents on Monday nights from 5:30-6:30. Dialectical Behavior Therapy is an evidence-based intervention developed by Marsha Linehan. The goal of DBT Skills Training is to assist parents and their children in changing interpersonal, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral patterns associated with pervasive emotional dysregulation and the resultant problems in individual and family functioning. DBT has shown to be effective for a number of mental health issues including depression, borderline personality disorder and PTSD.
Jennifer is accepting new clients into this group at a private pay rate of $30 per person per group. Mondays: 5:30-6:30pm
