Dr. Ybarra, a psychologist with over a decade of experience, specializes in cognitive behavioral therapies and provides individual, couples, and group psychotherapy to adolescents and adults. She specializes in treatment of depression, anxiety, self-injurious behaviors, substance abuse, relationship and family problems, post-traumatic stress disorder, sexual trauma, and personality disorders. Dr. Ybarra also conducts psychological assessment for adults to evaluate for a variety of diagnoses including Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Dr. Regina Ybarra earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The Ohio State University. She completed her internship at the Salem VA Medical Center in Salem, Virginia where she provided psychological services to veterans and their families. Dr. Ybarra has worked as a faculty member at Alfred University, Auburn University at Montgomery, and Austin Peay State University. She has worked with graduate and undergraduate students interested in becoming therapists and has conducted and published research on a variety of topics. Dr. Ybarra has also worked in private practice in Nashville, TN and Rockwall, TX where she provided counseling services to adolescents and adults dealing with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, self-harm, and Borderline Personality Disorder.
