Brittany Chavis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Texas, holding a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Utah. Having worked with a broad spectrum of adolescents (12+), adult individuals and families in a variety of inpatient, outpatient and academic settings, Brittany brings a wealth of experience to Blank Slate Therapy. Brittany understands that many who walk into her office feel alone, not good enough, and weighed down by shame. She has a passion for helping her clients let go of these burdens, and will create a space where you feel safe to show up as you are.
Among Brittany’s areas of expertise are the treatment of anxiety disorders, phobias, depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), trauma and PTSD, stress, major life transitions, substance abuse recovery, parenting, behavioral concerns, autism, relationship concerns, coping skills, domestic violence, learning disabilities, neurodivergence, racial identity, self esteem, sexual abuse, spirituality, suicidal ideation, self-harm, LGBTQ+ concerns, and more. She is especially passionate about working with individuals of color and trauma survivors.
Brittany has a deep compassion for facilitating growth and change in her clients, and utilizes evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness and Trauma Focused interventions. She is flexible, authentic and strengths based in her therapeutic approach, allowing her to address the unique needs of you and your family.
Seeing each client holistically, it is Brittany’s greatest desire that her clients develop skills to achieve greater confidence, compassion, and love.
