Finley, or “Fin,” is a 5-year-old Great Pyrenees/Flat-Coated Retriever mix and registered therapy dog who has worked alongside Libby for more than three years. She has a heart as big as her paws and a calm, affectionate nature that makes her easy to connect with.
In sessions, Fin tends to settle naturally into the room. She may rest at a client’s feet, lean in for affection, participate in an activity, or gently engage in play with children. She is equally comfortable being involved and simply being present, allowing her role to shift based on the client and what feels appropriate in the moment.
Libby incorporates Fin intentionally through animal-assisted therapy when it supports the work being done and the client is comfortable with her involvement. Sometimes that means Fin takes an active role in an intervention; other times, her quiet and steady presence is enough.
Fin is especially fond of belly rubs, being close to people, and making herself comfortable wherever she happens to land.
